Faith for Me
Faith, for me, is like a special childhood friend.
Like someone who played a meaningful role in shaping who you are.
Like someone you connect with, who mirrors you in ways only childhood friends really do.
Like someone who always has a place in your heart and mind but may not be part of your life for many years at a time.
Like someone you may reconnect with - a little - for some holidays, special occasions or because of big life events.
Like someone who, hopefully, eventually returns to your life in a true, meaningful, lasting way.
Like someone you grow old with, just as you grew up with, in that connected, loving way.
That is what faith is like for me.
I am grateful that my life has worked out so that I can grow old exploring and enjoying my faith in a true, meaningful, lasting way.
This special journey of faith is dedicated to my loving parents.
Special thanks to Reverand George Patterson for being so supportive and helpful to me throughout this beautiful journey.
I used the NIV Jeremiah Study Bible by Dr. David Jeremiah as a resource to prepare the summaries, graphics and discussion questions for the Bible Book Club.
