Reverand George Patterson of the Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City, Maryland

Today I want to tell you about someone who has played and continues to play an important role in my journey to explore my faith – Reverand George Patterson of the Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City, Maryland.  Reverand Patterson officiated my father’s service in Maryland in February 2024.  

Dad was born and raised in Maryland and his final resting place was there so we flew him back from Florida to Maryland.  My mother and I decided to attend a service at Atlantic United Methodist Church/AUMC, where Reverand Patterson was the pastor, as a sort of thank you to him for officiating dad’s funeral.  We were both so impressed with the church and the pastor.  With good reason, my brother refers to Reverand Patterson as the Michael Jordan of pastors.

From that first Sunday on, in February 2024, mom and I have continued to attend AUMC and it was and is a huge help to both of us. Since then, we have both become members and support the church as much as we can.  Reverand Patterson has continued to be a huge source of support and encouragement for me as I have made a commitment to spend the rest of my life exploring my faith.
