Rainbows and Sunrises

Then, as I was driving down to Maryland, I saw a rainbow. I actually stopped my car and took a picture of it. It was just above a sign for the beaches. The rainbow calmed me and made me feel like everything would be okay - especially with the driving back and forth between Maryland and New York. This is also when I decided to go to the beach and watch the sunrise while I was in Maryland. 

Now, for most of my life, my family had beach condos steps from the beach. I never once in all those years even considered going to watch the sunrise. Now it would require a short drive from my mom’s house, but I knew I wanted to do it as part of my retirement season. 

Watching the sunrise has now become part of my Maryland routine, and I have incorporated reading the Bible into it. I was just in Maryland for a few days last week, and, of course, I watched the sunrise and read. It is one of the most powerful experiences I’ve ever had - watching a beautiful sunrise on God’s beautiful beach while reading God’s beautiful world.
