Just The Proverbs

This is a very special Tuesday Tracy because it happens to be falling on the day I am also posting my 365th Proverb on my Just The Proverbs page.  I cannot believe it was just over one year ago that I read the Proverbs for the first time.  At that time, I was still in the process of reading the Bible cover-to-cover and when I hit the Proverbs I was blown away. I had often thought to myself in my journey to read the Bible cover-to-cover that I wished I had done it earlier in my life.

However, when I read The Proverbs I thought – I wish I had at least read these earlier in my life!!!  My pastor refers to the Proverbs as little public service sound bites with great advice for faithful, honest, healthy, peaceful, joyful living. They are also easier to read than other parts of the Bible so I would truly encourage everyone to take a little time and read the Proverbs.  Today, I thought I would share some of my favorite Proverbs with you here.

This one is my all-time favorite:

“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones” (Prov 16:24 KJV)

The ones that follow are primarily from the New International Version ,and I just love all the great inspiration and wisdom they provide.

The tongue of the righteous is choice silver - The Proverbs 10:20

A good wife is the crown of her husband, …- The Proverbs 12:4

Truthful lips endure forever, … - The Proverbs 12:19

"He who walks with wise men becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm" (Proverbs 13:20).

"The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares its joy” (Proverbs 14:10).

"He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly" (Proverbs 14:29).

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. - The Proverbs 15:1

"Without counsel plans go wrong, but with many advisers they succeed” (Proverbs 15:22).

"The light of the eye rejoices the heart, and good news refreshes the bones” (Proverbs 15:30).

And this last one really resonates with me now as I have committed my work to the Lord, and I am eager to discover what plans He has in store for me as I continue to share my journey of faith with you!

"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established” (Proverbs 16:3).

Happy Tuesday!
